Although we began as a wholesale-only bakery, Cake is now pleased to offer our cakes to everyone in the Indianapolis area. Whether it’s a devil’s food cake for six or a fruit-filled wedding cake for 100, we’re here to serve.
From the batters to the buttercreams, our recipes always start with the same honest ingredients that our grandmothers (and their grandmothers) used: eggs, butter, flour, milk, and sugar. Of course, we also call on extras like chocolate, cocoa, lemon, walnuts, vanilla, fruit, cream cheese, brown sugar, and buttermilk to round out the flavors and keep things interesting.
No matter what, you’ll never find commercial mixes or buckets of industrial icing in our pantry. Some think it quaint or old-fashioned, but we know we’re not alone in the belief that the difference in taste is worth the extra effort. It’s not the most common or fastest way to make a cake, but the results are by far the tastiest.
